PHILIP EGLIN
Philip Eglin (b.1959) studied at Staffordshire Polytechnic and the Royal College of Art. He holds up a mirror to contemporary society to reflect its prevailing interests, its anomalies and contradictions. He draws his subject matter from both high and popular culture and from stories and images seen in the press or on the internet. He exhibits internationally and his work can be found in major private and public collections in New Zealand, USA, Netherlands and UK. He was winner of the prestigious Jerwood Prize for Applied Arts: Ceramics in 1996.
